!!! Huun-Huur-Tu !!!

The band Huun-Huur-Tu played tonight in Calgary and they were phenomenal. They are from Tuva, a country in the Russian Federation and they perform some traditional throat singing songs as well as some beautiful contemporary compositions. Their music moved from energetic pieces about horses to slow meditative songs that involved them replicating the noises made by animals and the environment. I can't get over the humble majesty and beauty of their music. If you haven't heard them before, please pick up a CD to support these phenomenal artists.
